The new General Data Protection Regulation ("GDPR"), effective 25 May 2018, requires us to explain how we obtain and use your data.​

You receive email from the InterEnergy  because you have either signed up to one of our mailing lists, have expressed interest in our projects and initiatives, or have registered for or attended one of our events.​The security of your data is very important to us, and we are committed to ensuring your personal information is respected.  We collect only very limited data about you (name, email address, company/organisation, and title/role), and use this data either:​to facilitate administration of events you attend, which may include sharing your name, title/role, and company/organisation (but not email address) with the event host so that they may maintain a list of attendees, or;to keep you updated via email on our projects, publications, upcoming events, and other activities.  ​We will not share your personal data with any other third party without your explicit consent. We will never sell your data to anyone for any reason. 

You can unsubscribe from future emails by clicking ‘unsubscribe’ which is located at the bottom of every email we send you.  Each email also provides a link to update your details. You will be unsubscribed automatically from our mailing lists after five consecutive unopened emails.

You may also unsubscribe from our lists or make changes to your personal details (including deletion of all personal data from our records) by contacting us directly at Our website uses cookies.  We have no access to or control over any of the information they store. Cookies can be disabled through your browser, although it may negatively affect usability of our site.   

Third Party Services

Our mailing lists are maintained by MailChimp, and emails to our lists are sent using their services. Please see here for their terms of service, privacy policy, and cookie statement.

We use Eventbrite to administer our events.  Please see here for their terms of service, privacy policy, and cookie statement.​ Our website is hosted on the GoDaddy platform.  GoDaddy, together with its marketing, analytics and technology partners, use certain monitoring and tracking technologies (such as cookies, beacons, pixels, tags, and scripts). *Please note that the above Third Party Services may place cookies or utilize other tracking technologies and have their own policies regarding how they collect and store information. Such practices are not covered by our Privacy Policy and we do not have any control over them

We reserve the right to modify this privacy policy at any time, so please review it frequently. Changes and clarifications will take effect immediately upon their posting on the website.  If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here that it has been updated, so that you are aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we use and/or disclose it.
